Foolishoneim gogin custom desktop getting teh parts off of ebay. Nvida Geforce 6800 Ultra (or 7800 if there is one available) Intel D945 Mother Board Intel Pentuim D Processor -Clock speed: 2.8 to 3.4 -Front Bus: 800 MHz 120 GB Harddrive 2 GB RAM I can do that for little over 300 so im willing to do it, im gogin with inel becuase i need mroe multitasking then i need for extreme gaming, as i siad ill only be playing classic games (the best!, starcraft, read alert) and newer RTS's (Generals, Zero Hour, Act of War, etc.) so i dont need the kind of power AMD Athlon can give me on games such as doom 3, etc. that seems liek a pretty good setup, i have a case, keyboard, and screen, fan, and 450W power supply. case is ready for expansion up the wazoo any one see a problem with that setup that im over looking? if i need a better power supply i can basically get them for free off of ebay
do you have any knowledge of computors? all that goes for about $1000. just the ram, hard drive and cpu go for that much. btw alienware is only worth if if your goin for top system from them, otherwise go with dell.
i am no fool (what ever my nickname may say), i can read thank you very much, if youll note i am BIDDING on them, ive averaged the average sale price at the end of a certain items auction and addd it all togehter to come little over 300 if i pull it off correclty ( mother board/processor bundles, video card/harddrive bundles save tonssssss of money) if you want to build a great computer with great parts at a cheap price go ebay, jsut make sure its legit and do your research.
the only prayer you have to even come close to that price is to buy no-name crap parts. you won't get quality, even shopping on ebay. we all have looked at enough products to know that. for some quality parts, once you add on some sellers shipping, you can buy cheaper on newegg or zipzoomfly or tigerdirect.
i must of prayed hard...the parts came yesterday and ive assembled all into the night so i could have it ready for today...works excellent, im gonna have a comptuer techie from my local comp store come over and just do a diagnostic check to make sure everythigns ship shape....final specs:
Intel D945 series Motherboard (800 front bus) Intel Pentium 4 Extreme with Hyperthreading (3.8 ghz) Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra 160 GB harddrive 2 GB RAM HD tv out tuner tv tuner and still plenty of room for expansion...probly gonna get mroe memory, my old comp already had good dvd and cd-rom drives so i kept them along with the 450 watt pwoer suppl and teh motherboard adn video card came with fans in a budle package i managed to snag....not bad for only $340 total minus shipping...plus shipping about $390...90 bucks over my budget isnt bad considerign the computer is worth like you all said over a $1000 in parts...lets hope teh diagnostic doesnt cost to much lol thanks every one
little weak on the video card, and you shoulda done amd over intel, but not a horrible set up. defintely an improvement over your old one. merry christmas.
well that will run CNC general swith no problem at high qualiy settings right? thats really the only game ill be playing...like i said this isnt specificly for gaming jsut for medium gaming but more school based
I think ailenware is the best because it is all mostly about gaming on those computers. Dell would be good but I would go with Alienware
Seriously, custom build... Surpasses the two preset build makers by miles and will lop off so much money from your budget.
