Alright... so I start up my PC just like any other day, and realize my desktop background picture is no longer present, and has been replaced with a solid gray background.

I assume it's a common glitch, so I open my display properties and this is what I see:

What's different about this window from other times I have viewed it:

-The word "Background" is faded -The "Browse" and "Position" buttons are not available -The entire list of selectable backgrounds is faded and cannot be selected

This situation reminds me of a restriction that some computers have applied, making so users are not allowed to modify desktop settings or backgrounds/screensavers. But I have never done something like this...

Any ideas?

*I realize I double-posted this thread by accident, I wouldn't mind if a mod deleted the other thread.*

do you have another account you can log onto and check if it's disabled there too? if not, then make a new one with admin powers, and see if you can change it on that one.
