I've got a problem. Every now and then after I've powered on my laptop the screen resolution will drop from 1440 x 900 to 1024 x 690. It gets really annoying as I'm one of those people that likes to arrange their desktop icons around their wallpaper, but after I change the resolution back all of my icons are in a meaningless jumble. Is their any way to stop this from happening? I'm using Vista and have a Nvidia 8600GT. Help would be appreciated!

Well that's weird ... but I think there are some programs to save your desktop settings (such as wallpaper and associated icon places) that might kinda circumvent the problem (though it wouldn't be a real fix for the issue).

Ah, that's good enough. I'll have a look for a program like that now. Thanks!
