I was wondering if anyone here knows any good websites that have awesome themes for WinXP Pro desktops? The ones that do not require any other software to run the theme, just WinXp.

I'm looking for a nice black theme. If you know any other awesome themes though, do tell. Thanks everyone.

best place for XP themes - deviant art

But before you actually cna run third party ones (with the exception of luna/royale/zune/embedded - those are all signed and made by ms) you will need a small program called replacer or something And a hacked uxtheme for XP sp3.

Just google uxtheme XP and will give you enough results.

There's a reasonably good black theme built into XP. Go to 'control panel' and select 'switch to classic view' in the options to the right. Click on 'accessibility options'. On the 'display' tab, put a checkmark in the 'use high contrast' box and click on apply. You can adjust things like text size by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting 'properties'. On the 'appearances ' tab you can select font size etc.

Why the hell would anyone be using windows classic GUI - let alone the high contrast one (which is plain ugly in my opinion) when Luna looks a lot better.

The only really ugly XP type VS is zune.
