Can anyone tell me how to turn a normal desktop into an FTP eserver? I know it can be done, because my friend got some people to do it for him. I want to do it myself though, as I have more than one computer. Thanks

Simple. Set up the computer as you would any other, install an FTP Server (such as Apache FTP), configure the working directory, users, bandwidth limits etc and you're done. You may want to run it headless, in which case you'll also need a VNC server/client setup.

I've done this many times - for now, though, I have an HTTP server running headless under my desk, which is remotely controlled via RealVNC.

I prefer FileZilla FTP Server myself. A bit more stable.
