I have to decide between a pentium m 2.13GHz and a Pentium 4 3.4GHz. If i go for the Pentium 4 i have to wait a lot longer. how do these 2 processors compare? ive read that the Pentium M is much more efficient.
Well, whichever one costs more should be better... I've never even considered Intel myself so I wouldn't know about which one's better.
you would think it would work that way but i am worried that it doesn't. the Pentium M could be more expensive due to the low battery consumtion.

Intel Pentium 4 2.6 GHz has a 400 MHz front side bus, making that 3.2 GB of data per second in/out of the processor. Pentium 4 HT 3.4 GHz has a 800 MHz front side bus making that 6.4 GB of data per second in/out of the processor. Pentium M 2.2 GHz with a 400 MHz processor side bus making that 3.2 GB of data per second in/out of the processor. Pentium 4 HT 3.4 GHz is far better than the M 2.2 GHz. The M processor is practically the same as the standard P4 2.6. Go for the cheapest.
the internet is skynet
Unless its a small and/or quiet pc get the 3.4.
M = Mobile. The Pentium M was first made for Laptops before the Centrino cames out.
thanks for your help. furthermore i have discovered cyperpowerpc.com where i can get a 2gb ram P4 3.2 HT with the Geforce graphics for less than the xps with 1gb ram and the Pentium M. namebrand is not the way to go.
JakkcIsnt the 'M' a server processor :S
No. Their "Mobile" Processors for note books. :D

If you want my opinion i would get an amd because they are much cheaper and offer much more bang for the buck. Cyber power is a good custom pc company so you shouldnt have a problem if your planning on buying a pc from them. If you do see if they have a good amd based comp and get it instead. The pc will be cheaper and better.
