When are you going to bother with dx10, if at all? It does look a lot better, but I guess I don't want to splash out on a pricey, compatible card, but I don't want to be behind in gaming either.
I'm not going to bother. Not yet, anyway, what with the only DX10 cards right now costing £500 or so.
When I've built a new system with PCI-E and stuff. By which point Vista/DX10 will have been here for a while, DX10 games will have started to come out and DX10 hardware will be cheaper.
But if we got a DX10 card now, will they be compitable with DX9 games?
When a card that is significantly better than my current card fits my budget and there is an interesting game taking advantage of DX10. That should take a while as I'd rather not spend more than 150€ and FH2 should keep me busy for a while if it is released anytime soon.

yes
Arch...not having a go at you or anything, but try and avoid single-word posts. There are other ways of getting your point across. :)
Anyway, yes DX10 cards will run Dx9 games. Ironically, however, they won't work with Vista or Dx10 based games yet, at least not until nVidia release updated drivers.
Heh, it's better than the "evil sarcastic sentence" method. :p
I've heard rumors, that GoW is gona be the DX10 flagship. Anywho so will current cards be able to run DX10 or will we have to get new cards for the technology?
You'll need a new card. The only ones available at the moment that support DX10 are the nVidia 8800GTS/GTX...which are insanely expensive.
