I disable all my network connections, when I am done online. In the "Network and Dial-up connections" control panel.
I want to know, if anyone has any reason to believe that my computer can still be accessed, thought the internet, if all adapters are diabled.

Monster User, the Tech Forums guru, is asking a question?!? lol, just kidding
It sounds like think it's impossible to access your computer if its disabled, but I could be wrong.
well, if you pull all the cords out, they cant ;)
I know, I'm just tired of having to get up and reach around to the back of the PC. Or walk across the room to the Hub.
"Monster User, the Tech Forums guru"? Thanks War Hawk, I couldn't give myself the title. :D
Well, I know its sopposed to be safe, but with all the holes in WinNT based OSes, I wanted someone else to tell me. I'll just unplug it, when I get offline.
Monster_userI know, I'm just tired of having to get up and reach around to the back of the PC. Or walk across the room to the Hub.
Install Zone Alarm, it has 1 click "stop all internet activity" and "internet lock" functions. It's free and passes GRC's "Shields Up" with flying colors. Much less trouble then disconnecting your cables.
I've already got it. I use it when I just can't convence myself, to get of my lazy bum. :D Thanks anyway.
Still don't think it is secure enough... Those tests don't contain the tricks of the undectable hackers. :D

Just disabling it does the same as cut off the cords, and as far as i know the only way to get in with it disabled is by a virus or whatever to go in thru a floppy/cd drive and reactivate it lol
Its very safe.
