Anyone know if the Thermaltake Silver River Duo HDD Enclosure supports Vista also?

Or if it has drivers somewhere that will make it work with Vista?

Also, what external hard drive enclosures would you recommend? Is Thermaltake a good brand?

I need something that supports SATA as well as IDE, since my old PC is IDE.

(Links please)

Thanks

I'm using a $10 generic PowerSpec USB enclosure for my old Western Digital 120GB IDE hard drive. It's pretty much plug-and-play, and I use it on Vista. The first time I plugged it in, Windows had it ready to go in 30 seconds, and that's it. It took more effort to physically put the hard drive in than it did to install it and have it ready to use.

So you think its probably generic?

Why does it list OSs then?

It says on the package that it supports Win 98SE/2000/XP/Mac OS X.

Thanks

I would say it's safe to assume that it will work just fine with Vista. I have never had any hardware on XP that didn't work just as well with Vista. Hard drives (internal and external), optical drives, RAM, graphics cards...

Yeah it'll work fine. There is nothing in the circuitry that will not be compatible with Vista.
