I'm not sure if this is allowed in the Tech Discussion forums or not but whenever I try to download a game demo, like Far Cry, Battlefield 2142 and alike, I encounter problems. I save the files to my desktop since they are large files. And then I open the folder, I double click the install icons and the whole folder freezes. I never make it into the installation process. I also extract files and it freezes within extraction. The same things happen when I open folders instead of save folders.

Thanks,

I would guess that this is happening because your downloads are somehow being corrupted.

Does this happen on files you've downloaded from different sites?

Try downloading the same file, but from a different site.

It worked, thanks. Does this mean that filefront files are bad?

Some are bound to be corrupt, but some sites are more prone to this, IE Fileplanet. I've only had a few FF files be corrupt. Overall, FF provides files of good quality [There's only good and bad, imo, no in-between. Either it works or it doesn't.'].

I like Filefront the most, incredibly fast compared to other sites and all for free. So many companies are all in it for money nowadays. Fileplanet, I really don't like that place, terribly slow for me, and they cap it by so much. Gamespot, for their videos, they kill more than half the video resolution if you are not a member.

Filefront is great that way, no money, fast downloads, I wonder how fast it is when you are a member.

Agreed, for files, FileFront is the best. I love that they even will allow you to host your own personal files.

How so, mods or just files? I know you can host mods.

Mods, files, it's all the same. Technically speaking, a mod is a file anyways.
