When i click on Local Hard Drive(C:) A new window pops up and says: To start your search follow the steps on the left panel. It used to when you click it, it open the local hard drive C so i can go into me program files etc. How do i get it back to normal gtifreak

? have u scand your computer for any hidden programs running in the back ground. i am kind of lost on ware u are too.

If I understand correctly...

In "My Computer", everytime you click on the C: drive, it opens the Search Sidebar.

What version of Windows are you using? (Sounds like Windows Me).

Have you run an Anti-Virus, and Anti-Spyware tool? Perhaps something has edited your registry.

I have Windows xp And i have spysweeper by webroot and Nortin Anti Virus 2005

That happened to me once, back in the good old days when i was on Win98....as i recall it was a virus, not too sure though...:uhm:

Right-click Drive C:, and post what words are in Bold letters. Is it Open, or Search, or what? Open should be set to default, although somtimes Explore is.

I'm having trouble finding any information, perhaps knowing what is set as the default, or if anything is defaulted.
