Hello guy's, I have BellSouth DSL and I really want to know how to open up port's or turn off the router? can any help me please?
Why would you want to turn the router off?! Your connection would go bye bye. Unless of course you have it set up a diffrent way. the only way i could think of to sure fire turn your router off would be to unplug it.
There are different standards on networking equipments throughout the globe so your best of reading up on your modem/router specifics. here is the link to the Bellsouth Help Center. You should find info on how to configure your network settings there.

How would I unplug my router, and if I do it will it turn off my internet?
Obviously, Im using a HG router and as soon as i plug it in, it gets the 1 light for power, then next light for connection, And when i turn my PC on and enable connection it connectes through the router and my third link light goes on. When you dont need your internet just disable then unplug your router. Simple :)

Unplugging it is the same as switching it off. I'm gonna look on another site for you to see if a method i know of will work with your router. brb

Log onto your router by typing in the network gateway IP in the address field of a browser. You can find the gateway IP by running the command ipconfig in a commandwindow (press start, press run, type CMD press enter).
Portforwarding is done in the console you log onto. Leave most other router functions as they are if you are unsure about you ISP configs.
EDIT: Nice guide -Sparks- but some of the stuff doesnt apply to all network equipment :p
