I think my cable went down maybe 2 times last year. Perfect service from Optimum. Call your ISP and ask them to look into this. Have you checked your PC for spyware, that can cause serious slow downs as well. Do that and call your ISP. Then, call the Adelhpia company and ask them the average upload/download speed of their cable package.

I have DSL, which I like much better than cable. In my three years of using DSL, I have lost service twice, and only one of those times was it out for more than one hour.

Cable generally has bandwidth caps, which the companies are not always very honest and open about. As for speeds, you will not always see the maximum, and depending on the usage in your area, your speeds might be significantly slower than DSL speeds.

I would call and have your DSL looked into. If it won't work, then it makes sense to switch, but I would try to keep the DSL if possible.

we had dsl for about 2 weeks, then all the hidden fees you heard about in the comercials came true :) so we switched to cable and a nice happy man came to our house and installed it for us. my friend has dsl, his dad spent hours calling this dsl support line because everytime i went to his house, dsl or gaysl as they called it, would go out at 10:00 pm and wouldnt come back on until next moring.

Pethegreat I had comcrap as my ISP for 2 years. Slow, buggy, and tons of users sharing some bandwidth. It was $50 and I was getting 60kb/s downloads. DSL is around 200kb/s and only $30 a month.

lol. my Comcrap is 35 a month, and i get 300-400 Kb/s. i roxorz u boxorz with mah cab-le. :D im going to upgrade my service to 6000 down and 768 up. *pats cable modem*
