intervideo also works well, even though it is expensive.
As I said before I'm not paying! Not that I'm tight, I just don't believe in having to pay for software to enable me to use a device.
oh, sorry, i thought you meant a DVD PLAYER. You NEED the manufacturer's software to properly decode most DVDs, and get proper sound.
I've downloaded the correct software for the model that I have. I have sent an email to the guy I bought this off asking for the CD that should have come with it, but I doubt he'll get back to me! Good job I haven't left feedback for him yet!
Make sure all your drivers are up to date, and make sure u have the latest updates for windows from microsoft.
Two thoughts: -Do you actually know anything about this DVD drive (like, make and model)? -Playback is independent of factory software. WMP should have codecs necessary to view DVDs, as should any version of PowerDVD, WinDVD, or InterVideo.
Are you certain that there is no fault with the drive, and that it's the proper region (I don't know if this would give a codec-related error, though)? Given the barrel-bottom price of OEM DVD drives anymore, I hope you got a screaming deal on this one.
Yes, it's a Liteon LTH something or other
