I'm not entirely sure you guys really know what a CRC error means. There's been a shedload of talk about a load of programs, but no mention of any of the oher causes. Like, have you tried the simplest thing of all...cleaning the disc? Have you checked it for scratches that would prevent the disc from being read? Have you tried doing this with other PCs or drives to see if there's a problem with the drive?

While running a simple speed check of the drive I uncovered this.

To the OP, that is the encryption causing that error. I would assume the same is true of the nero check, looks like it's run on the same dvd.

Try using the program AnyDVD in the background, insert the dvd, and then use dvdshrink. You can also try using anydvd with clonedvd. You can get a trial version of anydvd which should let you know if it's what you need or not.

btw - dvdshrink stopped being updated over a year ago, so if you have v3.2, you have the latest/final version.

I would have to agree with Oblivious. I used AnyDVD for the 30day trial and had no problems. It allows you to back up your DVD's without the CRC error. I only get that error on some of the new DVD's that I have. If I try some older ones like Heartbreak Ridge, then it works perfectly fine.
