i got a new comp a little more than a month ago... everything was going great . burned a couple of things fine... thena couple of days ago it stoped working... it doesnt read BFV. Anybody know why? im pretty sure its plugged in.
Generally CD burners can't be used as a regular CD drive.
why do you say that? They can be. Thats why on the box it tells you read: speedX write: speedX Re-write(if it is a cd-rw drive) speedX. X being the speed of the drive.
My CD-RW burner doesn't read unless there isn't a CD in the other CD drive.
Thats pretty messed up, i've never heard of a drive that ran like that. I've used a cd-r for a primary, and now i'm using a dvd-r as one. Never had a problem.
Maybe later today I will reinstall and see if that helps. My computer is usually pretty messed anyways.
Actually you have a better chance of reading burned CDs with a writer ROM.
its a "Do it all" dvd -/+ r/rw cd-r/cd-rw
