Isn't the DVD region a firmware thing?

They have a 14-day trial for you to see if it works:

Download - DVD X Player - World's First Region Free DVD Player for Windows PC

If it does, then perhaps it may be worth paying for.

There are other programs for that use, such as AnyDVD (21 days trial), and I can say this one works pretty fine. Also, it allows you to use whichever player you like, since it's basically a driver that emulates the DVD region code you want your system to recognize the media with.

Just to be sure we don't misunderstand, when I said "this one" I meant the one I had just mentionned, that is AnyDVD. I didn't try the other one.
