i have been trying to make a backup cop of my episode 1 half life since i am moving to another town,but my dvd burner can reord dvd rw but it would not record dvd r i have a dell 9150 with a philips dvd +-rw drive and i could have burned dvd r's before it just started happening yesterday pls help

I assume you're talking about the Steam game backup feature? If so...don't bother. It's very unreliable. You'd be better off, as Archaon said, re-downloading EP1 from Steam.
