When I had my PC built, I didn't know I'd need a DVD to run some games (like BF2); I have a 52x Rewriteable drive & I want to add the DVD on the link. I'll appreciate any input anyone might have. Will this do the trick or is there another one I should look at? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6330838&type=product&productCategoryId=cat01042&id=1075584078550

sony is good, but the price seems a bit high, looking at newegg http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/SubCategory.asp?SubCategory=55
a dvd rom is $20 - 25 im in the uk so cant compare prices
Thinking about it.
That's what I like to call a ripoff: I can source retail box DVD±RW DL drives from Lite-On for $53 from an independent shop where I'm at. I'd recommend looking into that sort of thing, since (as M!tch said) a DVD-ROM shouldn't cost more than about $25 anymore.
I'll also go on to recommend Lite-On. I believe they used to do a fair amount of OEM stuff for other companies, and have since branched out to their own product lines. No complaints about performance, but they are quite loud when they spin up for an active read (though not for writes or 1x reads).
C38368 is right. You can buy a Liton DVDRW DL drive for under $58. I know for sure because I own one :P save your self some money and get it, it runs great and can burn DVDs and DL DVDs hehe.
You guys rock!  :stallard: Thanks!:salute:
