Hey, I'm building a new computer ...(finally upgrading form agp :p)...and and in this new computer i wanna put a e8400 and a ASUS P5K SE ...
Ok heres the problem ive seen that the P5K supports the upcoming 45nm cpus but i saw in some place that it only supports fsb speed of 1066 and the e8400 has 1333 and ive also heard of peoples computers not even booting....but on the other hand ive heard that it does support and on a website i saw that it says it does support 1333...and on the other other hand some people say you have to update the bios to get it to work ....
as you can see im confused:uhoh: so i came to you guys for some help..and to explain it better for me....

If the mobo will run Intel dualcore chips you should be fine.
Lots of people have problems with their comps, that shouldn't discourage you from upgrading.

From what you say, it sounds like the board does support the 1333Mhz FSB, as long as you update the BIOS to the latest version.
