I have two PC's, one is my Dell and the other is my etower 667IR that I brought back to life! This older emachine now kicks the crap out of my newer Dell from the help I recieved on how to upgrade this machine to it's full potential! If any of you emachine users went to the main page for emachine, you probably got no help or support there. I found a site dedicated to emachine upgraders and the info there is PRICELESS! Here are the specs on my emachine that is UNBELIEVEABLY fast! Etower 667IR 1.4 Pentium 3 Coppermine CPU (upgraded from Celeron 667) 40 Gig Hard-Drive (upgraded from 10 Gig) :D 512 RAM, yes 256 is not max! (upgraded from 128) :smokin: GeForce FX 5700 (upgraded from MX4000) Conexant V92 modem (upgraded from micromodem 56) :naughty: 36X CD-ROM :naughty: 52X Lite-on CD-RW (2) 80mm cooling fans  Windows XP Professional (upgraded from ME) Creative Soundblaster sound card (upgraded from onboard) :lookaround: Creative Subwoofer sound system (Rock the mullet!) :moon: Some of you "Uber geeks" are probably laughing right now, but how many of you guys know of an older etower that will play BF2????? :deal: YES! I repeat! An etower that plays BF2!!!!!! :bows: Sure, I have to turn down graphics and stuff, but it plays BF2 quite well! If you have an older emachine and want to give your buddies "Uber PC" a run for the money, then I suggest you go to http://www.emachineupgraders.info/ You will be surprised what that piece of crap sitting in your basement can do!
You dumped about $150 into that thing? For the money that is great since its runs good for you.
heh it says my old etower633 that my mom uses can fit a 1.1Ghz Pentium III.
That etower 633 can also accept 512 RAM if you check the forums on which kind to buy! Petethegreat, I invest about $250.00 in the machine. You gotta figure RAM, the CD-RW, the CPU, etc. I got the PC for free though, so either way, I win! I spent almost $1000.00 on my Dell about 2 1/2 years ago.
Mullet ManThat etower 633 can also accept 512 RAM if you check the forums on which kind to buy!
512mb Ram would be nice, it only has 288mb in it right now.
Too bad my old eTower 600is choked, and died. Would have been nice to see what it was capable of...
No big deal, it didn't even have an AGP port.
