I can't decide between two external hard drive enclosures so I want to see what you guys think.... I am running a FTP server and constantly need more space for my computer. I have decided to make an external hard drive this time. I have already bought a Western Digital 200GB hard drive. However, I can't decide between two external enclosures. One has USB 2.0 and Firewire, while the other one is only USB 2.0. The problem is the one that does not have firewire comes with built-in fans. Do you guys think I need a fan? My FTP server is up 24/7 so I will need the hard drive to be able to run 24/7. The price is not a big deal since there is only a $5 difference. Here are the two I am looking at.... (USB 2.0 with FAN) http://www.cintreusa.com/StayCOOL_details.asp (USB 2.0 and Firewire without FAN) http://www.xpcgear.com/ufens2355case.html If you know of an enclosure that has both firewire, UBS 2.0, and a fan please post it!
Firewire is a little faster, but unecessary unless you have a Mac.
The fans would be a SIGNIFICANT reason to get the USB only version. If its gonna be on all the time, its gonna get real hot. I'd recommend that one.
