Im looking for an internal hard drive to store photos and videos, and some extra stuff too.
Looking around, I decided on either: Newegg.com - Western Digital My Book Essential WDG1U5000N 500GB 7200 RPM USB 2.0 External Hard Drive - Retail
or one of those Rugged All Terrain Lacie hard drives.
Anyone have any suggestions on any other good External HDs?
Well, there are usually two ways to go: Big and large, or small and portable.
I have a Western Digital 120 GB, enough for music, some movies, photos, and program installers. It's about the size of a wallet and basically works almost like a large USB drive. :)
In any case, WD is a good company and you should get externals from them. Usually when buying, check hard disk speed and port speed (ex: USB2 vs FireWire)
If it's not ASAP, I don't care

I have a Lacie 250GB external hard drive and I have had no problems with it. I actually added the WD hard drive you mentioned to my xmas list this year. I've never had a problem with WD's drives, so I recommend it.
Ive had a Lacie Porche 250 gb ehd for 2 years now.. no problems with it, with the exception of the usb cable only being 25 cm :p
I built my own.
Bought a enclosure for $39 and put a 320GB SATA WD drive in it and I have a 60GB Laptop drive in a enclosure I take back and forth to work.
