SpaceX just released this video with some highlights from last months launch of Falcon Heavy and Starman. Plus we finally see what happened to the center core.

Gotta say, I applaud the efforts of SpaceX and Elon Musk. They've really made strides in commercial spaceflights in the years since their inception. This, by the way, is the anniversary of the first commercial rocket launched into orbit by SpaceX. We've come a long way since then, so who knows where we'll be in another decade? Or two?

I could easily see SpaceX establishing the first human colony on the moon, or on Mars. Or even the first commercial space hotel. They've got the vision, ambition, and the funds.

I watched the live stream and it was pretty amazing. The most incredible thing is the cost-savings that these guys achieve. Rockets have been around for a while, so you'd think the big players would have matured their processes to a point where it would be insane to enter that market.

Kind of sent chills down my spine. My reaction when I first saw this was something like "holy sh*t, this is going to happen. We're actually sending people to Mars in my lifetime."
