Hi all so nice to see you all back much love!

Anyways I was thinking about upgrading my CPU! I'm stuck for now with a FM2+, anyways I've picked out a few that I would like to buy but I would like to your input as well please!

I was thinking this for one. AMD Athlon X4 870K Quad-Core Processor with Near Silent - Socket FM2+, 3.9GHz, 4Mb Cache, 28nm http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=4_1210_64&item_id=094530 looks quite nice, what was is this Near Silent thing mean?

I have a Amd Athlon X4 750k Quad core processor.

I was also looking to upgrade my motherboard as well. It's an Asus A55BM-plus would like a nice gaming motherboard (budget one that is) it has to be mini-ATX card I'm sad to say. http://www.canadacomputers.com/search_result.php?checkVal0=1&checkVal1=1&checkVal2=1&checkVal3=1&checkVal4=0&subcat42=3&pagePos=0&keywords=&manu=0&search=1&ccid=1207&cPath=26_1207 Anything decent in this? I mean if I go Motherboard I'll need pick out a new CPU would love a nice Quad core that can handle some games. DDR3 as well, don't wanna upgrade my Ram atm

Not really familiar with AMD CPUs, except that the last time I checked they weren't really able to compete. I'd go for a used Haswell. CPUs aren't very important for gaming right now. That may change a little with VR headsets, but it doesn't sound like you specifically want to prepare for that.

MSI makes good boards and they have very good customer service in case something goes wrong. You probably won't be much worse off with other name brands such as Asus though.

The near silent proably refers to the included fan. If you want a silent system it is probably better to buy an aftermarket CPU cooler with a 120mm fan (keep in mind that GPU and PSU can also produce a lot of noise).
