Adblock is THE Firefox extension.

Many people use it to block Ads. I use it to block offensive or annoying avatars/sigs, on various websites. Ones that are very animated, jerky, or have lots of gore.

It's a content blocking extension. Allows to prevent something from ever being displayed again, based on a set of rules involving regular expressions. Unless the current website is in "whitelist" or you disable Adblock or you delete that rule ^^

So it's very useful to block advertisements but not only that (any thing you don't want to see again, such as an avatar you don't like etc... ).

It is found here.

A typical rule would look like *.advertisingsocietydomainname.com/* or */adverts/* ... you can of course set as many rules as you wish.
