These tweaks and changes will speed up your FireFox browser experience:nodding: I hope this hasnt been posted before if it has, admin delete topic!:( First, type about:config in your Firefox address/location bar and do the following changes. network.http.max-connections change to 40 network.http.max-connections-per-server change to 16 network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server change to 16 network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy change to 16 network.http.pipelining change to true network.http.pipelining.maxrequests change to 8 network.http.proxy.pipelining change to true

Btw, here are some hardcore settings. network.http.max-connections change to 64 network.http.max-connections-per-server change to 21 network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server change to 16 network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy change to 16 network.http.pipelining change to true network.http.pipelining.maxrequests change to 200 network.http.proxy.pipelining change to true

Windows XP loads Firefox very slowly. You can speed this up by using Windows XP Prefetcher. Click with the right mouse button on the shortcut that you use to open Firefox. Click on Preferences. After Target you add the following text: /Prefetch:1. Example: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" /Prefetch:1

I had done those sort of tweaks, but a different way. I downloaded an extension that gave you a new window to do the tweaking, but I never knew you could do it with 'about:config'. Nice.

nice tweaks, but which would you recommend for a 56K Dial up connection? i'm running the hardcore ones right now and it's defantly faster!

Great find Lunatick :D Even more reason to switch to firefox now. With this extra speed it just humps IE into submission.
