This is a sort of Mozilla Firefox Versus Microsoft Internet Explorer Thread. I'm sure we'll all have fun discussing this in an orderly manner...Yeah Right! Kill Each other!

Have fun.

My Thoughts: I like how Firefox has the spell checker, the ability to see what is on feeds before viewing, and the themes (skins)!

Firefox is way better, because Internet Explorer had all of those add-ons and Firefox, like you said, has all of those good features like spell check and whatnot. Plus look at my sig Firefox is awesome. Plus without all of those add-ons and whatnot, Firefox is better

This thread is pointless. Just wait until Internet Explorer 8 comes out. Then we can really debate which is better.

IE8 is the version of IE that just might make me switch back, from other browsers.

Anyway, Konqueror rules! Internet Explorer, well, drools!

Yeah, Firefox 3.

Its on Release Candidate 1 right now, you can download and try if you want here: Firefox web browser | International versions: Get Firefox in your language

I've tried it, but it didn't seem much different than 2 to me.

I've been using Opera since IE bombarded my computer with endlessly spawning error messages. I have a screenshot of that somewhere...

Anyway, I like Opera's design, and especially like the side panel. There are also a bunch of smaller features I like.

I use Firefox whenever Microsoft gets picky and won't let me download updates.

And in the Microsoft corner - ME! I use IE as my primary browser. I have Firefox installed on my machine but IE takes like a second or two to boot whereas Firefox (With only the anti-ad plugin) takes about 10-15 seconds to load. This leads to me usually getting impatient and clicking the icon again and then invariably having two windows open. It also gives me errors trying to load some pages and makes downloading more of a pain (I like how IE lets me just pick where I want the file and not download and then assume I know where it is without tinkering with it). I don't see where you all get all your errors from, IE doesn't give me any trouble. Sometimes a page will lock it up but the same goes for Firefox. I've actually had Firefox crash on me more than IE even though I use it less. Not to mention, I'm tired of all the propaganda for it. I'm not going to use Firefox, leave me and the internet browser I choose to use alone! To me this is like the unfounded Apple ads attacking Vista as unstable and buggy where my Vista has NEVER crashed on me and I've had it for about 6 months now and my Apple has locked up several times.

It is not unfounded, merely dated. Many of those sprouting propaganda for Firefox, are using the old propaganda for IE4-6.

Firefox is a good thing for Internet Explorer. Look at the difference between IE3, and IE6. Some people can't even tell the difference. I can't even tell the difference between IE4, and IE6. IE7 however, does have a ton of new, and useful features. So will IE8.

These features were brought by competition. Microsoft had to improve, or be forgotten.
