Hi i have an old ext hard drive which used firewire to connect to a comp. But my comp nowadays all has usb ports is there some sort of adaptor on the market i can purchase . If so can you send me link

Newegg.com - firewire card

There are lots of PCI firewire cards out there m8. There are also a lot of the small pci-e slot in modern mobos.

Well i got alll usb ports on my comp so i need something that my firewire can connect to and the adaptor itself connected to the slot .

yeah but i got all my music on the hardrive so i need to find a way to connect to my comp ?

Have you tried just getting a cheapy converter for the transfer?

According the reviews, they don't work (unless your device just so happens to be a USB device with a firewire connector), and may even cause damage. I wouldn't even bother trying.

Meh, I didn't check the reviews on those particular products, was just thinking that if a PCIe slot was a little more than he was comfortable with a converter might be the way to go. Maybe even an HDD dock, the kind that can handle externals, might be a better option?
