As I said, try CD ROM booting first, Floppy second, and Hard Disk Drive third. This will delay the Hard Disk Drive in loading up Windows, and instead, the CD in the CD ROM drive will want to load first.
Sounds like he has a Dell restore disk....
No its not a restore disk because i have one of those this one actually says windows operating system with service pack two. Ill try the disk thing again because last time i didnt move the floppy one because i dont have a floppy drive i didnt think it would matter.
You seem to be doing everything right, and I yet, have a problem... Hmm..let me guess. is your hard drive in FAT 32 or in NTFS? If your hard drive is in FAT 32, and if you could somehow get hold of a floppy drive, use Windows 98 startup disk to boot into your hard drive, and then use Fdisk to format it. Let me know if you want the Windows 98 Start up files. I can probably zip them send them to your email.
And another thing is that when i browse the web now and scroll down it like doesnt do it smoothly its all refreshing itself every second.
You have to re-install your display drivers...What graphics card do you have?
Okay thanks guys the format went perfectly;), but just as yellowhampster reminded i still have the scrolling issue. I dont think it is a driver issue because i just installed the ones on the disk. But i will go and get my omega drivers non the less. I have an x700 pro HIS 256 DDR3 ram VPU.
Yes, it's the windows "drivers" They're not good enough to display scrolling down a webpage correctly ;)
You have an ATI card, right? So why not use them? Ideally you shouldnt have any problems with them, right?
I just slid in a fresh set of omega drivers and it's scrolling like a charm! I also reinstalled ZoneAlarm to keep away pesky hackers. I need someones opinion on what anti virus to use. I was using antivir but it was too complicated.:cya:

Antivir Personal is quite good if you look for a free scanner. You should also look for windows-updates, those are very important.
