Ok i downloaded counts link and installed the driver and during the installation it said that it might not be compatable with the hardware and if i wished to continue. I clicked continue and the blue screen of DOOM popped up so i was like Crap! THen i restarted the comp and uninstalled it. Back to square 1.:bawl:
Would i have sound if i where to just go out and buy a sound card and install the crap for that and use it instead of the onboard? Im not saying thats what i would rather do because i gotta fix this computer.
Indeed you would...
Kay thanks for the info... ill leave that as a last resort.
srry for the double post but there is no edit button just yet. Okay i download drivers from dell and they are the correct ones and everything. I click download from the website. I open them. They extract themselves, but then it says its part of a multidisc series and to insert the next disc. WTHBBQ i just downloaded it from the site. whats going on?
check the files. some older ones were made to fit on floopy disks. just click on the next numbered file. sometimes they were even numbered disk0, disk1, disk2.
WOOT!!!:p I FIXED IT. Turns out there was another spot on the site where the other half of the download was. I thought it was dumb that they wouldnt put them together. Oh well. Thanks all for your help on preventing this disaster!:bows::clap::clap::clap::clap::bows::dance::drink::gmbeer::smokin:
