Does anyone know any free anti-virus programs that will work on Windows 98SE and ME computers?

I'm currently using Norton 2004 on both but last time they gave me grief about upgrading... but I'm using Windows live one on my Vista

I'm kind of getting tired of paying for 2 anti-viruses.

Thanks

Thank, I'll look into them. I was just looking at clamwin but it says you have to manually scan the files and I didn't see anything on a firewall.

They don't take that long to install, and there's always Google. I'm sure at least one of them would.

Kaspersky doesn't list 98SE/ME as a supported OS AVG through google says no.

Avast and Sophos don't say what they do or don't. I'll do some more digging on this two. Thanks

I'm pretty sure Avast still supports 98SE.

Through the end of this year, if I remember correctly.

I would recommend running Windows XP in a Dual Boot configuration. Do any anti-virus scans in XP, and run 98SE without an Anti-Virus program. The Win32 malware is likely to have dropped off in circulation significantly enough, to prevent it from being an issue. Most of the newer malware targets holes in the NT/2K/XP/Vista line.
