Here are some good free compilers that are on the net:

Windows/DOS:

Dev C++ -:- http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html Liberty Basic (just like Visual Basic) -:-http://www.libertybasic.com/ NASM (Assembly Compiler) -:- http://nasm.sourceforge.net/ MASM32 (Another Assembly Compiler) -:- http://www.movsd.com/masm.htm DJGPP (DOS C/C++ Compiler) -:- http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/

Ones not tested by me: LCC (C Compiler) -:- http://www.cs.virginia.edu/~lcc-win32/ Free Pascal (Pascal Compiler) -:- http://www.freepascal.org/ Python (Python Compiler) -:- http://www.python.org/

Palm OS:

AppForge (Plug-In for Visual Basic; create VB apps for Palm. Free version only allows compiling programs that work for 2 days) -:- http://www.appforge.com/ OnBoard C (The BEST compiler for Palms! FREE, compiles right ON palm, easy, etc, etc...GREAT) -:- http://onboardc.sourceforge.net/

Umm.....if you want an MS language, you can get VB for free. Google Visual Basic at the movies.....erm.....sorry, it's all out. Meh, I got one, i wonder if it can upgrade? Hope I dont start loving VB, i'd hate to get locked it....
