She's a RAMeater make you work hard, make you spend hard. As you all know, Vista is the memory eater. All those random bullshit processes running idle with at least 40% of RAM in use all the time. Ive got some pictures up so you can tell me what I dont need running when im playing games and stuff. Although I shud be buying some more RAM to accomodate silly Vista, in the mean time. Gimme a hand. :) Currently running (and usually running) processes:

Is there anything I should show?

My personal oppinion on vista is to let everyone else muck around with it first cause its bound to be full of nasty bugs. Only just figured out how to work xp Properly, if it aint broken dont fix it mate. i think that there is an xp partition within vista, correct me if i am not mistaken

Switch from IE to Firefox :P

But seriously I don't know what you can do. I'm new to Vista myself and must say it takes a LOT of Ram.. At least I have 2 GB

56 processes is alot, for XP at least. I have my XP install looking like Vista (minus the sidebar and fancy Aero effects) and i'm running 28 with IE open.

Does "msconfig" still works in Vista? If so, go to "Run" (not sure where its at in Vista) and type "msconfig" (without the quotes), go to the startup tab, and disable anything you don't need. If you don't see it, pressing the Windows Key + R should bring it up.

If you really want to free up some RAM, your probably going to have to disable things like the sidebar and some of the Aero features.

Yup. 23 processes running at this time here, including WinAmp, Firefox, MotherBoard Monitor (to have my temperatures displayed ^^ ), Deamon Tools (virtual CD) and my firewall ... all that under XP.

I agree with you all, I will try out the "msconfig" right away. Thanks for quick response. (:

I posted this before. Take a look at Windows Vista Service Configurations by Black Viper The guy is a god among men when it comes to trimming the services in windows to remove things you may not need. If you're unsure if you should disable something he suggests, he has links to almost every service listed to help explain things better.

Heh, you guys should realize that Firefox isn't perfect and has memory leaks of its own. I've had it so bad it actually took up more memory to run than running WoW and Dawn of War combined.
