I Have the oppertunity to have free broadband from my brothers restaurant downstairs but the only way of getting it is through wireless. My computer is about 10-15 meters from the net connection. Its a 2.0mb connection and i want to be able to play BF2 etc on it. I know wireless can be ropey for games but can anyone reccomend a wireless router for me? Also are the 'turbo' (125mbps , 108mbps) worth getting, any better for games as they dont cost much more. Has anyone tryed MIMO routers? They claim to go 400% further and be much faster. I would like to pay no more than Ā£80 for a router. Can people please tell me there experiances with games and wireless. Thanks

My friend tried one of those wireless gaming recievers, he claimed it didn't work at all, but i have a suspicion he didn't hook it up right, also another thing his probably didn't work is i think his dad has a password on the wireless. Find a store that has money back guarantee on all hardware. I don't know if there's Best Buy over there, but they have 30 money back on all hardware, wether it has a problem or not.

Hah, right, really sorry bout the console related answer, guess my mind went out for a smoke while I wrote that. Anyways, yeah, wireless PCI network adapter. Or if you don't want to bother with the tinkering the inside of a computer, get one of the USB wireless adapters, goes right into the USB port and viola, incredible edible instant internet!

Hi I use an old netgear DG834G wireless router with a Shuttle SB75G2 with wireless add on, play BF42 (forgotten hope) no problems, no drop outs. When you set your network up be sure to use security settings like WPA and try to keep large metal objects like radiators, or fish tanks out of the line of sight that your PC to the router uses. Also keep mobile phones (both types) away and microwaves too. I read that the latest Belkin router is the bees knees at the moment, take a look at tomshardware.com
