the 7900 GS OC edition looks prommising. if my dad will get it and i install it i might just stop bitching at him about how bad our computer sucks at playing FSX, BF2142, BF2, Ghost Recon: Adv. War., Company of Heros and many more.
I've gone through 1 GC already and im working on my 2nd one. The first was an ATI X300 Saphire Edition. The 2nd and current one is a Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS 256Mb. Im looking to upgrade but i don't know what to get. I want one in the 512MB range. Heres a couple that I'm looking at.
Heres a power supply im looking at. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103516 If anyone has an opinion about it then please let me know. If anyone knows of a better GC or PSU leave a link.
The GeForce 8600 Ultras are supposed to come out at $129.
Alright ill look into it.
For that matter, I don't know if they're actually on the market yet. :p
I couldn't find one on Newegg.
Always bigger and better. I went to a computer show in Houston about a year ago and they handed me that geforce. At the time it wasn't on the market yet. I remember thinking Jesus christ who the fuck would need to buy that. Guess its one of those if they build it they will come sort of deals.
I also remember thinking i could probably use it as a deadly weapon. The fucker must have weighed 4 pounds.
I agree. The 8600 looks like the best value for the price so far.
You have a 7600GS at the moment, eh?
I would hold off on buying a new card until the 8600 is introduced.
I don't think that the 7900 will be enough of an upgrade to justify the cost.
The reason I was interested in that card was its memory and core clock speeds. Quite fast indeed. But unfortunatly its out of stock so I couldn't order it. I am quite interested in the 8600 Ultra. Anyone know about a DX10 card aside from the 8800 GTX?
