I recently bought the following spec computer: AMD64 3200+ Radeon 9800XT 256MB 8x AGP etc.. 1024mb 3200 DDR RAM 120GB serial ata HDD Wireless Network Card not sure of the motherboard. anyway i have a number of questions and i wonder if any1 could give a useful answer. 1) With a 9800xt i would expect to be getting a bit higher fps than as low as 34 in busy areas of jor1 on sof2. - any ideas why it slows down so so much - any ideas of what in game resolution / graphics settings would optomise my performance while making the game look as nice as it should with such a good (and expensive) graphics card / computer - any ideas of windows settings / ati control pannel settings that could do the same 2) I have a wireless Logitech optical mx700 it scans at 4.7 megapixels a second. however i dont feel as in control of it as i do with a ball mouse. which infact i played my best sof2 with. but due to the situation a wireless mouse is the only option without a long mouse wire getting in the way. - any ideas of how to get greater control? - i have just bought a steelpad 4d which should arrive tomorrow. instead of using it on my shiney laminate desk. do you think this will improve the control? 3) my wireless network. as far as i have seen it doesnt really effect sof2. apart from very occasional lag spikes. - is this just something that is common with wireless internet connections (1mb bt openworld btw) - or can i do something to fix this? 4) Speakers / headphones i play sof2 with sound effects on almost full and music on mute. but when im in a clan war and using ts2... people get drowned out by gun fire. even when i put it to low volume on sound effects. using low volume then has an effect on my sof2 play as i cant hear things to great. - is there any way of setting up a amplifier for ts2? something that will make everybody sound louder without pumping up the volume on my speakers which will have a knock on effect on everything else. thats all i can think of atm. any ideas? :uhm:

I wish i would have such a decent machine.

1) 34 fps!!!! U should have at least constant 200 with maximum details. My guess is:

* that it's PSU, which isn't powerful enough. Not an expert, but i think at least 350 - 400 W power is required and not just some bs Codegen but Antec, Fortran, HEC...

* U haven't updated motherboard bios,drivers, etc...

* Try disableing fast-write from bios and ati control panel, it could be a problem.

* If it woulnd't be new pc then i' d make sure it's not full of dust from inside (*warranty*) - my cdrw rom was 2 months old and didn't open, bc it was full of head hairs :D (dunno whose :P). Make sure nothing isn't stopping fans.

* Measure CPU temperature with a program called speedfan, make sure it's not too high.

2) New optical mouse id much "faster" maybe lowering windows or sof2 mouse sensitivity might help.

In Logitech mouse driver options make sure u are not using mouse acc in games (a thick in right place).

Shiny desk is the worst enemy of optical mouse. Good choice.

3) Don't know much about wi-fi :|

4) Are u asking: should u use headphones or speakers? Speakers offcourse. Sry about my english :P

What type of Wireless NIC card and AP (Access Point/Router) do you have - 802.11G?

It will depend on your provider (Openworld, in this case) regarding upstream/downstream bandwidth .....

update your drivers for EVERYTHING... figure out the motherboard manufacturer, go to there sire, download the latest bios and chipset drivers. then get your graphics card drivers from the ATI website, then get sound card drivers (if its on the motherboard go to the motherboard manufacturere website and download the drivers there) if its not drivers then its either low watt powersupply or a crappy made/broken video card...

Oh and for the teamspeak 2 thing i think theres an echo option somewhere around the settings...
