BlitZ, The 57th;4945943Well, FLV seemed like a smaller file compared to WMW thats why I wanted to convert them.
Surely you're not that desperate for space? I'd rather burn my stuff to DVD than use a format like FLV.
Well, my brother took the external hard drive along for the naval trip. All the music, movies and videos are in there.I'm stuck with my non-upgraded hard drive (60GB). P.S. With the codecs I'm able to play FLVs in their original state but not FLVs that have been converted from other file types. I also can't play AVI? Both gives me the sound but no pictures.
VLC media player is a must try
The codecs allow me to play FLV files but not the FLV files that were converted from other file types in media player. As for the VLC player, I have it, it plays FLV but doesn't allow me to use the progress bar? Everytime I use it, it restarts the entire video. VLC player also suffers from this: "With the codecs I'm able to play FLVs in their original state but not FLVs that have been converted from other file types. I also can't play AVI? Both gives me the sound but no pictures. "
VLC should be able to play AVI files, are you sure the files aren't corrupt?
VLC can play /anything/. If it doesn't work in VLC, chances are it won't work in anything else - i.e, you have a corrupted or otherwise broken file.
Also, if the progress bar doesn't work, that usually means the video index needs rebuilding. IIRC, VLC has an option to repair that, too.
