Hi guys, I'm looking to get a new headset/mic and a new mouse and i'd like to know what you guys can recommend. Headset/mic:
- Needs to cost as little as possible (prob end up getting from ebay)
- Best sound/mike quality as possible, gona be used mostly for gaming (so i'd like to hear sound effects clearly etc)
- Non usb, jack input only.
Atm im using the logitech pro gaming set which i absolutly hate, quality is good but its so uncomfortable and the mike isnt brilliant. Speaking of which if you want one i could sell it to u on ebay, let me know if ure interested. Mouse:
- Again low price essential
- Good tracking, little skipping, not to bothered about features but on t fly dpi switchin would be nice
- No software to install prefered
Atm im using a wireless microsoft intellipoint, its not bad but i dont like/use the intellitpoint software (not useful enough for the kind of ram/cpu the service uses) plus i find the mouse skips very occasionally which gets annoying, esp during gaming. Im looking at the S+arck microsoft mouse click atm becoz it looks so dam good and has decent reviews and no software, some reviews say it can skip a times tho which worries me but im getting a good mouse mat which might solve any skip issues. I'd be grateful for any advice/recommendations you guys can give me on this. Cheers, Ali
You're going to get lots of different opinions as to what micheadset and mouse to get.
I use the Logitech MX518 mouse, and love it. It cost me about $40, and it's tracks at a high dpi, and looks great.
ye ive seen a cople from the mx5- series, they look really good and ive heard good things, i may try saving for one. Basically in headset im looking fo like a good quality set of headphone (big padded ones) with a mic attached.
Any sort of advice as to what freq response and decibel level to look for in a good set would be great
any suggestions........any at all?
SteelSound 5H is a bloody fantastic headset. The sound is crisp, the bass is loud enough to produce BOOMS, and the microphone is very clear and loud.
5H is getting relatively cheap since Steelpad just made a V2, which is a lot more expensive.
For the mouse; I would go for an MX518 and a fUnc mousepad (yes, fUnc)
MX518 is a pretty cheap, very comfortable gaming mouse, and a fUnc mousepad (Specifically fUnc Surface i think) is bloody good. If you want to go for a more respected brand, then go for a Steelpad S&S
