what is your current RAM? start, rightclick my computer, properties
If you are less than a gb of ram then It will help. Its ok ram, valve stuff has loose timings, but it makes up with a cheap price. You could invest about $40 more and get some good stuff http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227031

Does your motherboard even use DDR2?

That ram is good if your not doing heavy gaming and stuck with less than 1GB of ram. But if your doing heavy gaming it be wise to get the XMS series, its a lot faster.
