I recently bought a laptop, which has a pretty basic video card it seems, Ive tried running Halo, and it screws up - jumps the whole time, even in the menu. Tried playing Max Payne too which is pretty skippy, and the graphics are pretty disgraceful too. I was just wondering what Kind of Drivers there are available for my particular card. Specification : Intel Celeron M Processor 1.60GHz Mainboard - NEC COMPUTERS INTERNATIONAL model : NEC Versa Premium 1024 Mb DDR Ram Video Card - Plug and Play Monitor on VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP THanks for any help or advice you can give
You can't. Your graphics card is an IGP (and not a very good one at that) and therefore...to be frank...crap. There's not a whole lot you can do about it either, in this case updated drivers won't compensate for rubbish hardware.
Maybe if you were using a Mobility Radeon or a Geforce Go! then you might be able to squeeze some extra performance out using Omega drivers, but as it is you're out of luck.
Ah.. Serves me right for buying a laptop I suppose. cheers for your help though
Although that is a shockingly awful card, I'm suprised it can't play Halo...
Yeah I was pretty damn surprised too tbh. atleast let me play HALO for christ sakes! I'll have to stick to old school rpg's I suppose... Go Final Fantasy 2 !!!
As it was, Halo was a massively resource intensive game. It ran like dirt on my old 5200 (even on the lowest settings it would lag for me).
I used to run it on full with a GeForce 3. Which is basically what the XBOX has in it as well.
