Can someone tell me some of the better g-cards around at the moment and their prices, I'm a bit behind on this info at the moment, I need a new graphics card. Cheers
The best GPUs money can buy as of now are ATI's X1950 series and nVidia's 7950 series. They're not cheap, though.
yeah its those two. but if you relly, relly need a new GPU right now go for something in the mid class like the nvidia 7600, and wait to the summer for DX 10...
how much is a nvideo 7600?
About $300 by the looks of things.
No idea whether those sites are any good.
I whould go for the XFX, I have heard some bad things about Gainward. I could be wroong though....
Right now a good AGP card would be the BFG Technologies GeForce 7600 GS Overclocked (this is my personal opinion though). It has 512MB of DDR2 VRAM 12 Pixel Pipelines (pretty standard) And is Vista Ready $150 is the average price for this. Take a look at the reviews: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143069 I've had my eye on this one for a while. Still have to wait for the money.
Best PCI-E card in my opinion is the ATI Radeon X1900XTX. But that would probably cost you a fortune. And it is noisy I've heard. What card do you have now? Are you going to make huge updates, like to your motherboard and stuff. What do you have now? AGP or PCI-E.
best card out there is a X1950 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814131023 but i tend to stay with ati. but a card to match 150 u can go with a X1600 and do fine.
