I have reinstalled twice this week but my graphics card only seems to like the drivers that came originally with the disk , if windows updates drivers or i go to the nvidia site , the card stops working properly , do you guys know what the problem could be

Are you uninstalling the old ones correctly?

(If using Vista) Programs and Features -> Uninstall NVIDIA Drivers Restart in Safe Mode Run Driver Sweeper Clean nVidida Display drivers. (If you get an error, clean again, and keep cleaning until you don't get any) Install new drivers Restart

Should be it. If you have done that, and you're still getting problems, make sure the drivers you're installing are WQHL, and not Betas. There's usually not a huge difference, but if you are having problems, best to stick with that's known. That's not to say WQHLs can't have issues, but it's less likely.

I take it you download sweeper first before safe mode

and a system restore will correct anything that i may or maynot do wrong ,

Yes. Normally Safe Mode won't allow you to access the internet.
