I'm spending a year dead for tax reasons.

Or so goes the rumour, from sources such as TomsHardware.
Apparently WCCFTech are saying the 1180 will have 3,584 CUDA cores, 8GB to 16GB of GDDR6 memory piping data through a 256-bit bus, and run at around 1.6GHz (core) to 1.8GHz (boost).
Take it all with a pinch of salt anyway, but yeah.
I have to say I can't get too excited given the current inflated price of GPU's. It'll be interesting to see what price point this lands at.

Nvidia has no need to release anything new as there is zero competition.
My guess is the fall at the earliest.

Rumors have been floating around that Nvidia will announce the 1180 at whatever big event in June. At this point, I think I will just buy a GPU when I need one. GPU prices are nearly settled back to MSRP... so just a little bit inflated considering how old they are.

My gpu (GTX970) gets the job done for the little bit of gaming that I do these days, but wouldn't mind upgrading at some point. Have a 4k TV and could give 4k gaming a try then to see what the hype is all about.
