I've got a friend who wants to know which of these 3 cards is the better deal. Honestly, while the numbers should be obvious, I know that there is a difference between the ATi and nVidia cards, however, as I have no experience with anything other than nVidia's high end cards. Sapphire X1600PRO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102651 eVGA 7600GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130017 XFX GeForce 6800XT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150157 I know, typically any "Choose for me" threads are frowned upon, but I would much rather not give any advice that I can't be positive is the best. I'd trust much more the judgement of multiple people here, haha He's got a bit of a deadline though, so if you know anything, please post. Its greatly appreciated!

well i know the 7600gt beats a x1600 XT so its deffinitly going to beat a x1600 PRO. and i think the 7600gt beats the 6800GS and the XT is lower than that so the 7600GT wins.

Hey, the 7600 is a PCI express card, and the 6800 is an AGP card.

There's no way that both of them could work in his system. He can either use one or the other. Please tell us if he's got an AGP or PCIe motherboard.

If he has PCI Express, go with the 7600GT. Way faster than a X1600 Pro. ATI's X1600 series cards are not very good performers.

The 6800XT fall in between the 6600GT and the 6800NU, both of which are much slower than a 7600GT.

Thanks for the help, he had PCI-Express, and from there I knew what to do. I explained the differences. I just wasn't sure. I discovered the 7800GT for less than $200, and as I own one myself, I knew it would do him well, also. I recommended that, along with a new PSU (C38368 would be proud, its an OCZ haha). Everything is taken care of. I appreciate the help! You guys always bail me outta these things, haha

Rep for everyone! Yay.
