How do i get Windows 98 and XP on my PC i have the cds for each
I cant see what RAID would do, anyways Its called dual booting Look here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/learnmore/multiboot.mspx
why do you want two operating systems on the same computer wait why would you want xp and 98 on the same computer
All you have to do is have two partitions. You can turn one harddrive into a C: and a D: or you could just use two harddrives. When you start your computer it will ask you which one you want. Install XP last because it will automatically boot to the last install if you don't select what you want.
Uh?? Why multiple partitions? you can just install the game twice on the same partition, in each OS, and then you'll have more space. Plus, partitioning is even more difficult when there is stuff on the drive.
If Windows XP is installed first. Make sure you have a bootable disk to repair the WinXP install, or download the Windows boot loader floppy image from Microsoft. Install Windows 98. Then REPAIR the Windows XP installation then your done. Easy as pie.
If The Hard Drive is blank, Install the Oldest OS first. Such as Windows 98, then Install WinXP, thats it.
Who mentioned anything about a game?
I'd like to do that so i can run some of my older games withough crashing(sim city 3000 unlimited) I know you can get an Hd and have that as your 98 hd then a bigger one for XP and all your new games.
I may think about doing this when i can get another HD in a few months(i think i have 98 discs)
DonavanWho mentioned anything about a game?
Its http://www.gamingforums.com <-- Who comes here looking for tech support that doesn't care about how it'll affect his/her games?
I myself Did this. I've got Windows 2000 and Windows 98 on my Drive. Tried Installing them to seperate drives but when one failed it was a nightmare to remove its entry from Boot.ini. Actually It took me untill yesterday to even find Boot.ini to remove the entry. dumb me, didn't uncheck "show system files"[/edit]
EDIT #2 @ Below post... I posted a reply, but it was off-topic, so I deleted it. and came back to edit this post.
By how many degrees are these posts not gaming related?
AMD vs Intel whats the answer AMD because it is a gaming processor.
nVidia vs ATi vs Legacy 3DFX? who wins? Who cares if they don't play games? Most non-gamers/CGI artists, think an i810 chipset is good. Much less Intel's newest offering...
Who visits these forums that doesn't play BIG name PC games?? How many do they play? Atleast 1 I garantee, usually 2 or more after they've been here a while.[/edit]
You see the tech forums are seperate from the games, if you look around this forum you will find that a lot of it isnt gaming related
