We recently upgraded to high def. television, we have an HD TV. But we also use our computer to watch TV. My dad wants to know if there is a HD monitor out there, and maybe even a HD cable card for the computer?

Most HDTVs can be used as PC monitors. That's how my DVR is set up - the box is connected to my HDTV via a DVI-HDMI cable.

There are also plenty of PCI digital cable adaptors out there that support HD broadcasts.

As Rookie said, you can use a TV as a monitor and obviously a HDTV is better than a normal one for that. On the flip side, any modern monitor of a decent size (ie 17" LCD or larger) outputs a higher resolution than an HDTV, so there's no need for anything like an HD monitor. Just pick the size you want, basically.

There sure are: Here is one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7625616&type=product&productCategoryId=cat01013&id=1130986316511

Look over at Best Buy or New Egg and you are bound to find one you like.

What kind of HDTV did you get?
