I have some headphones plugged into my computer but the sound only comes out of one side unless I plug it in half way - at a certain half way spot... where I have to push it the slightest bit to get it right, but then it just slips right out again...

It could be the headphones on the PC. Try it in another port or with another set of headphones or speakers.

I found out what the problem was. It turns out, the headphones aren't messed up, but the headphone extension cord that I was using is crapped out, because when I plug the headphones into the computer without the help of an extension, I can hear out of both sides.

It may not be a proper stereo extension. You can get mono and stereo versions of most types of 3.5mm cables.
