I was looking around on the net, When this bad search engine poped up. Bad as in adult stuff  I closed it and didnt think much about it. Next time i turned on my computer it was my homepage:uhoh: ! I changed my homepage to google, and deleted my cookies and temp files. When I turn IE 5.5 on and off again it is my homepage again! How do I get it off my homepage?
same prob... i got adware, checked for viruses, used norton, and deleted cookies and stuff and changed it to msn.ca but it still went to the stupid porno or whatever search engine...
get spybot and ad-aware. problem solved.
There are registrty entries that screw up your startpage. If your ad-aware / spy-killer doesnt remove all, boot in windows safe mode (press F8 when booting) and run a full-system-scan. When its done, boot up in safe mode again and repeat. Also make sure you have update to the last reference file..
Some of the spyware uses .dll files to keep themselfs busy, that way you cant delete it if you find it..
Check under the following Registry Keys for programs which autmatically startup:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and RunOnce ....
OR
Run the utlities "msconfig" or msinfo32" ...;)
