Ok, I just bought a DVD-RW drive, and I already have a CD-RW drive in, but I would like to have both installed, so I am wondering does it matter which one I set to Master and Slave? (in the IDE thing or what ever it is).

It doesn't matter.

It must be set according to what the other drive on the same cable is set to, ofcourse. If the CD-RW is master, then the DVD-RW must be set to slave.

There is another setting. Most drives are set to CS, or Cable Select these days. If your CD-RW is set to CS, then the DVD-RW must be set to CS.

Well in the manual for the DVD-RW it recommends you set it to Master, says you will get better results or something, well anyways, ive just installed it, and it seems to work alright, althought I only have DVD movies to test it with right now, and they work fine, but I dont have other types of DVDs right now, I guess the test will come when I get a game on DVD format.

Well thanks anyways. :)

I concurr with Sirius. I have the latest DVD player from LiteOn and the manual also recommends setting it to Master. I have this drive as well as a CDRW hooked up on the same chanel, as well as an older CDR on another channel and they perform flawlessly. Just make sure your CMOS boot order is set up to match your hardware configuration.
